We agree on everything you said.I have always been confused with what does WCDMA stand for and what is it going to be if we ever see it.TO me its like a leopard(some call it bastard standard<gg>) that changes dots al the time.I have always had this funny belief that when its all said and done,it might be CDMA 2000 with a little twist and tweaking and certain parties save face.

I do however still believe that NOK thinks they can seriously do it themselves and expect a major legal battle down the road.Their lack of CDMA knowledge will be their downfall and probably settle before the verdict comes out .I just don't see how they can leverage their WCDMA progress in negotiations with qcom if they are infringing on qcom's IP.DR J will probably smile at their attempt and play hardball as he has done in the past. The only reason for any concession's from qcom would be if they view the pace of 3G roll out more important than an extra few % in royalty from NOKIA.

I remember Dr.J statement that the most important thing is that 3G roll out starts as soon as possible in what ever flavor as they would receive the same royalties for all flavors. That statement more than any other has always helped me with my faith in QCOM.
