I agree with your conclusion that Albert may have left of his own accord.

I am disappointed to see how this has worked out. I have always treated this thread as a learning opportunity both from a perspective of understanding the semi business and chip design, and from the perspective of dealing with a lot of diverse people.

Neither is easy....at least for me. I think in this situation there is an opportunity for all of us to learn including Albert and Elmer; that is, how to treat each other with respect even though significant differences and viewpoints abound. I suspect that if we can learn and improve those skills here on the thread, then we will function just that much better outside this thread.
