Joel, many cyclical stocks have produced oscillator divergences on their charts when hitting new lows recently...so there are some tentative technical buy signals. they may get bought simply because they look 'cheap' compared to the broader market. as we have seen many times, logic has a habit of not intruding on this stock market. re. the backwardation of energy complex futures, that's a typical sign of supply being tight. one should never short a market in backwardation... regards, hb
