Agreed, the initial knee jerk reaction is to sell.

I would have thought that MTSN is too small for professional arbitrageurs to waste their time with; but that doesn't stop the amateurs from attempting to scalp a point or 2.

In the Q&A, I believe that MacDonald stated that the deal would be accretive starting in 2Q2001.

Further in the Q&A, I believe it was Brad who identified that about $4M in litigation will be saved from the CFMT side; and possibly a similar amount from the Steag side. The litigation savings have not yet been factored into MTSN's earning estimates.

All in all, looks good for MTSN's future. They were an insignificant and relatively unknown equipment supplier about a year ago. After the acquisitions are complete, MTSN will enter the top 20 Global Semiconductor Equipment providers (at postion 13).

Certainly, much progress is being made toward MTSN not just surviving but thriving with the best of the industry.

It will be interesting to see the stock's price performance over the next few months.
