'Copper root' is more apt than you know. Here in the country there is a trick to get rid of a tree you do not want, usually a tree on someone else's property. Take a copper nail or two and drive into low into the tree or a major root. CHEM 101 will tell you what happens over time.

see what you mean...that was of course back when copper was still important.
