Chic >>Whatever, this is frustrating that AMD's price depends more on Intel PR than the facts.

and where are the super bull analysts? biting their fingers probably, I am saying this cause usually you would have some reit buy when the stock is down 15% from high, we will hear from them again when AMD moves up so they will get the credit, not that I based on my buy decision on their recommandations anyway, just wondering.

For the record, I reit Strong Buy.

Chic <I'm starting to think the Intel PR machine is stronger than the facts.>

Starting? Now do you see why I've been harping about an advertising campaign? Brand recognition? Nothing with T-Bird. NOBODY except semi-followers have any idea that a T-Bird beats a Pentium or a Duron beats a Celeron (clock-for-clock). AMD may well get buried under Intel's PR/Advertising machine because their respective departments do a terrible job.

2 hours, 2 million shares traded. So much for the theory that a volume pickup would take AMD higher.

chic,

I am the one who mentioned volume pickup and 2 million in 2 hrs is not what I had in mind. Over 6 million for the day and as close to 10 million as possible, preferably over.

As for AMD's problem, the SOX has been down all week and it is not doing well again today. The economy's slowing has people concerned. Hopefully the feds not acting today will get people to jump in.

Chic - RE: "I'm starting to think the Intel PR machine is stronger than the facts. They are starting Willy hype now it appears."

The Willy hype sure gets going when REALLY DUMB articles like this one are written by the AP.

"Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) introduced on Wednesday its new high-end Pentium 4 computer chip, formerly code-named Willamette, running at an advertised 1.5 billion bits of information per second for faster graphics and game play."

"Intel's fastest chip until now has been a Pentium III that processes information at 850 megahertz, slightly more than half as fast as the new Pentium 4."

dailynews.yahoo.com

I can't believe this crap gets published.
