Re: Webvan. The best long term investments are almost always difficult to own initially, and sometimes all along. MSFT has probably always made people wonder if the bad series of years was just ahead (and now they may be in the midst of that flat period, which will only lead to more uncertainty...).

All I know is I saw a lot of WebVans cruising around many different neighborhoods in SF.
