I think that makes no sense. If you are buying into the MicroE business, the spin off makes some sense - but it doesn't today represent core business at Lucent. The spin-off would be done to capture hidden value in the MircoE division. Obviously, the Board doesn't believe that it is being evaluated correctly within Lucent.

After such a spin-off Lucent would be more of a pure play in the networking arena.
