Little Chick - Re: "We're replacing Sun servers with Linux NetFinity servers. It's a big site, something like 25,000,000 hits a day. That's a lot of Linux servers."

Chic, read it again, the 25% growth rate was strictly Compaq. I don't know about IBM or the rest. Nothing I can do if you disagree with the CPQ numbers.

Tony

Edit, my bad, the report about Compaq called the division the NT Server Division. That was a misnomer. It should have said Industry Standard Server Division. The servers can also run Unix and Linux, not just NT. So, Intel based servers sales are running at a 25% up clip at CPQ, regardless of what they run.

Chic, >A good example of this is the weather.com contract that IBM just took from Sun. We're replacing Sun servers with Linux NetFinity servers. It's a big site, something like 25,000,000 hits a day. That's a lot of Linux servers.

Good, good. Something in that for each of us: you as an IBM employee and me as an Intel stockholder (Netfinities of course run on Intel)!
