(3) Rambus' impartiality against Hitachi by its decision to file a lawsuit against just Hitachi instead of other DRAM makers. My bet is that a lot of thought went into the choice of adversaries. Don't forget the history with certain "other DRAM makers". "Vigorously defending" your patents from infringement in a courtroom is one choice, vigorously defending your ribs from Steve Appleton's elbows at the next JEDEC conference is another. :-)
