Infinilink Introduces i200 Full Rate ADSL Modem
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000--
Infinilink© Corp., a developer of DSL hardware and software, Tuesday announced its second product, a full rate (up to 8Mbps) ADSL modem.

The i200 ADSL Modem complies with all current industry standards. (See Technical Backgrounder). It supports connections at up to 8Mbps with telcos and service providers using G.dmt and T1.413i2 standards, and provides full G.lite (1.5Mbps) compliance including fast retrain for the services most frequently supplied to homes and small offices.

The i200 also supports all four ADSL data encapsulation techniques and provides comprehensive interoperability with virtually all telco manufacturers' equipment.

A Plug & Play PCI device, the i200 works with all recent Microsoft© Windows releases including Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows NT4.

``The i200, the latest addition to the Infinilink product line, allows the user to connect at full rate ADSL,'' said Ed Matsukane, vice president of Research & Development. ``By providing a dedicated connection to the central office, the i200 allows the user to communicate reliably at full rate without service degradation caused by a shared medium such as a cable modem.''

The i200 uses virtually no host cpu power, yet its architecture eliminates the need for the onboard microcontroller that adds to the cost of most DSL modems. As a result, the unit is OEM priced at under $200. Deliveries will begin this month.

Infinilink's first product, announced in February, was the i150 ADSL/V.90 modem, which includes an ADSL modem and a 56Kbps analog modem on the same PCI board. The i150 operates at up to 1.5Mbps in G.lite mode and is backwards compatible with T1.413i2.

Both the i150 and the i200 allow their users to simultaneously make calls, send faxes, or transmit data using an analog modem while connected to the ADSL service on the same line.
