RE: That would be nice to know. On the other hand, perhaps TTOSBT is right, that Dell is justifying raising prices, as that is the antidote to a shortage. Or maybe Dell is steering customers to higher end processors.

Hey, we know that they are steering customers...Robert Williams told me on the phone that this is a possibility in these situations and a sale is a sale...Even if there is an upgrade and let's say a Trinitron screen thrown in with that faster chip,etc...A profit is a profit...
And, if anyone really wants to know if there is a component shortage and what it is...Perhaps they could go to WWW.DELL.COM and order something and check on the lead times...
