Mike, I wasn't quoting TFM. I was merely stating what we do with quarterly reports. We measure progress and management performance.

I certainly believe that the street's expectations are manageable if management; a) knows and stays current on its competitive and customer landscape; b) has built a corporate culture that is not only vigorous, but honest; and c) has the financial infrastructure in place to gauge performance almost real time; d) has the experience and integrity to give the street the right guidance at the right time.

CSCO is a prime example. MSFT is another.

A company that cannot manage the street's expectations is lacking in at least one of these crucial areas. I consider a problem in any of these areas as a problem that bears watching closely, Gorilla or not.
