Yes, despite the media's mantra that "American's are smart voters, etc., etc." Most American voters don't understand the issues, don't understand that many real issues are not even discussed, don't understand the principles this country was founded upon, think the purpose of the government is to tax and spend on social programs, and too many times vote for a candidate because of the way he/she parts his/her hair.

I still remember the reporter back in the late 70s who mimeographed a typewritten copy of the Bill of Rights and stopped people on the street in a town inFlorida, asking them to read and comment on it.

Some recognized it for what it was. Others thought it was the Constitution, but almost 25% thought it was a communist document!
