I don't need a defense. Reason is on my side. Objectivity is on my side. Philosophical tenets are on my side. Morality is on my side. Ethics are on my side. The law (reaffirmed by Supreme Court today) is on my side. Brains are on my side. Futurist thinking is on my side. What is on your side? Hmmmmm? An imaginary god? Emotion? Poor "science" and a perspective akin to primitive herdsman in ancient Israel hearing "Yahweh" speak to them behind every bolt of lightening or errant breeze? (The Norsemen called the same phenomenon "Thor.") In medieval times, which you seem mired in, the ignorant peasants were often sent home with hunks of day old bread and rabbit haunches.
