Some semi notes from SG Cowen Taiwan visit:

1. shortage of Intel processors rapidly abating
2. intel will lose significant marketshare in 2h00
3. motherboard makers are building inventories
4. seasonal component demand in 2h00 will be strong, but 1h01 is at risk

they expect a price war later this year in processors and capacity to expand... with the outlook on INTC and AMD to be short term opportunities at best....

How do you spell "nuclear winter":
09:09 ET Pru on PCs : Prudential says consumer PC demand has
been weaker than seasonally expected, and that Q2 revenue
results for Compaq (CPQ) and Gateway (GTW) will be tight and
would not rule out a revenue miss; believes CPQ is more
vulnerable.
