I haven't followed WCOM that closely except what's in the news. WCOM is still in a downtrend on the weekly chart. It's moved toward the upper level of a downward channel. The speculation is that they will seek to acquire NXTL since they're still seeking a nationwide cellular service. NXTL didn't hold onto much of its gains today. I recall that an acquisition of Nextel may have been tried in the past, perhaps by Worldcom, and failed. It's also had negative effects on the stocks involved in the other two phone mergers: Q (Qwest) and USW (US West), BEL (Bell Atlantic) and GTE (GTE Corp).
