Ausdauer, you've put things in proper perspective. It appears that the majority of hand held computers (with Sony's yet to be produced models the only major exception) will now be available with a SanDisk product, or a product that was made under license from SanDisk. The addition of flash memory units to hand held computers suggests that these units will combine functions such as e-mail, fax, music, books, and applications such as spreadsheets. The hand held computer becomes a sophisticated music player, in addition to its other functions. It should be able to store photos as well, so that when you go on a trip for business or to see relatives, you can carry the latest family photos along for display on the hand held computer. The hand held computer seems a better general purpose portable information device than, say, a cell phone because the cell phone display screen is too limited for anything except the most basic communications (short notes, stock prices, etc.).

What you have suggested in your two recent posts is another major market for flash memory. People should worry less about the current price and consider these new sources of future demand.

Re: SNDK price decline

Aus,

I am a lurker here and a recent investor in SNDK. While driving home today, I was listening to an program called "Stock Talk". The host mentioned that there is some weakness in Flash memory pricing. He also said that things get commoditized over time, and that even though Flash was not yet a commodity, it was not exactly high end.More informed investors (such as yourself and others on this board) understand the IPR position of SNDK and the difference between it and the rest of the Flash players. But the average investor does not. So when they see reports of Flash price declines, they dump on all the Flash players including SNDK and SSTI. That and reports of Flash overcapacity in two years are responsible for the weakness in SNDK stock price IMHO. Only earnings and positive forward projections during the conference call will clear this up.

If you are a long term investor and confident about the company, why worry about the daily fluctuations.

Cheers,

Piyush
