Agree/pure genius ... (BTW, I've had a crush on him for years) but I think Carlin AND Pryor AND Murphy AND the late Sam Kinnison are all geniuses. No reason to "rank," IMO.

Speaking of insanity <g>, I've thought for years as well that Robin Williams is truly insane. Manic, certainly.

Could have gone in various detrimental or even fatal directions with his lunacy (you know, like any other common nut-case -- criminal behavior/prison, etc) but "channeled" it into a productive, positive avenue ... comedy.

Sigh. Fascinates me.

Lunacy is in the mind of the beholder.

Or the "beheld."
