Danny Chan on the Conexant thread posted info. about a CNXT purchase which mentions, in passing, Rambus (also AMD). Hope this has not already been posted. tim techweb.com PS Kind of old, from May 8th.

BILOW, Re: The Death knell for DDR on the desktop VIA would not post this kind of information if they had not already made their determination. It completely undermines their DDR campaign but they no longer care. It looks like DDR is out of the desktop as far as VIA is concerned. This is why the launch date shifted two quarters in a few months. The next to fall will be AMD. AMD has a license already. They were hiring engineers a few months ago. They will have to go with SDRAM systems until they get their own RDRAM platforms out. Willamette (P4) will dominate until then.
