I agree they were deceptive, but it was in the other direction. Instead of cooking the books to suit their projections, they cooked the projections and are submitting (apparently) honest books. Both courses of conduct are inexcusable. But cooking the books is the death penalty for a stock as far as I am concerned. Screwing up the projections and lying about it for awhile is grounds for 6 months to a year of hard labor, and possibly the ritual sacrifice of a CFO in an entertainingly public manner.
