MAY 2000 NEW HOUSING SALES AT ANNUAL RATE OF 875,000
Sales of new one-family houses in May 2000 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 875,000 according to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is virtually unchanged (+/-9 percent) from the revised April rate of 877,000 and 2 (+/-10) percent below the May 1999 rate of 896,000.
