I'm only speaking of for historical analysis.

That 9/1/94 day actually ended up negative for example. From a pattern perspective it was a straight up day because it's Low was early. The drop from the Close on the day before until early morning was severe. But from there on in the market went pretty much straight up.

So if I were to convince myself that today would be like 9/1/94 then I would be looking to Sell it early but reverse and stay Long off early Lows. Even though the upshot may be that the day closes negative, the trade would still be Long....if you follow my logic.
