CH, re: "Oracle is one of the biggest ponzi schemes on the street today."

I agree. Oracle is 60% marketing, 40% substance. IMHO the most overvalused of the big cap techs.

BWDIK,

John

Chic, in a word (2) I disagree. Oracle is king in the database market. It's theirs to lose.

You've seen those commercials stating that Oracle runs 95% of the fortune e-50, etc. OK, if this was true, how come Oracle has been growing at 15-20% while the Internet is growing much, much faster? The truth is 100% of the fortune 100 use DB2.
---

It's an interesting statement (Oracle/95%/E-50). The truth is, most companies of significant size have Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server, whereas that ad implies (but doesn't say) that they run Oracle exclusively. Fortune 100 type companies don't run anything exclusively.

You also said "Win64 will probably never see the light of day on IA64". Absolutely untrue. Win64 has been available to IA-64 OEMs for quite some time now, and it will ship when the hardware does.
