That was why he had applied to the camp-- getting into it is like getting into college- recommendations, SATs, essay, grades, I think they then use the camp as an indepth interview for both sides, see if the fit is there.
We can't reschedule the vacation- getting a cottage at NAgshead is difficult- and pretty expensive and we would lose a lot of money. Also it was the only week that worked for everyone- until this.
He has decided against the Academy for a couple of reasons or we would have encouraged him to go. Their emphasis academically is on engineering- which is definitely NOT Ammo's forte or interest. They offer no theatre. (which he adores) and they require a 5 year commitment following graduation, which he decided was just too restrictive.
I can't say I'm sorry.
Though he would have been knockdead handsome in a uniform.
We're still looking for a combo theatre/ marine bio college.
He is in love with Rollins in Florida- but the price tag is very steep- 32K a year-- and adding that to CW's 22 well--
that's just beyond our abilities.
We're going to look at William and Mary on our way back from the beach, and probably U of R. And U of Houston has a great theatre dept, with Edward Albee on faculty. BUt I don't know about marine bio.
I'm not ready to go through this again.
You'll have the same thing with your boys-- are they two or three years apart?
