Most XAU components are down 3-4%, NEM is down almost 8%

This may account for another part of the xau move:

Thursday June 29, 9:09 am Eastern Time Newmont evacuation from Indonesia mine after protest

That should cause more of move upwards in Gold, and also XAU members other then NEM. Other then that it is a mooted point.
