Correct me if I am wrong I mode is not EDGE/CDMA. The question was Nokia's definition of ongoing trials of WCDMA EDGE and clarifying your definition on what a trial actually is. (mine is below). My other point is the need to deliver more than sexy press releases on WCDMA.>> If you ever have been to a wireless trade show you see all kinds of claims and prototypes delivering is where most fail.

<<<<GUS-<Again I note the deliberate denial of ongoing GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA trials>

Its the definition of trial that is questionable. Seems a little ambiguous of exactly what a trial is. A trial by my
definition is a commercially Viable version of WCDMA with working equipment not plastic non working prototype
units and laboratory testing.

The press releases are not impressing anyone any more. And the pressure is increasing to deliver more than words
with WCDMA

Is this what was meant by believing your own internal truths?>>>

<<Do you see anything to suggest that WCDMA in Japan will be dead on arrival next year?
Denial - such a sad thing to watch in slow motion. Boring too.>>

My point is I have not seen WCDMA no one has.WCDMA is all press releases and so called "trials" at this point without delivering more soon it will be DOA. Doubt will increase with every passing day until delivery.Time is ticking and SP's will need hard evidence.

VERY OT:

I'm fascinated by the depth of the posts and related intelligencia of this thread. Also own the stock. And it's down from where I bot it. But I sold the July 60's against it which mitigated, to some extent(actually, a very limited extent), the detrimental effect of the decline in the price of the stock.

But my real problem (and Nokia's too?)is that I sent a 6162 to my 4 kids in NC 3 months ago so they could call me because the X wouldn't let them make long distance calls.

Lots of dropped calls (mine to them) but I think it's because they sort of live in a hovel. I mean hole. Like the Bermuda Triangle. Whatever goes in doesn't come out.

How can I fix this dilemma? Should I buy and send an antennae to my kids that they can stick on a house window to get better reception? Or, should I buy a different phone? From a different vendor?

Kindly forgive the off-topic nature of this post, but after lurking here for the last 30 days, I'm totally convinced that everyone here is much smarter than me....

Best regards,

Mark A. Peterson
