Priceline says air ticket Web site not a threat

NORWALK, Conn., June 29 (Reuters) - Priceline.com Inc. (NasdaqNM:PCLN - news), whose shares plunged 16 percent on Thursday due
to jitters about a competing Web site that plans to sell cheap airline tickets, said its revenue growth projections and coming profitability
would not be affected by competitor Hotwire.com.

``This announcement has no impact whatsoever on our revenue guidance to the street, or our profitability targets,'' Jay Walker,
Priceline's vice chairman and founder, told Reuters in an interview.

The Norwalk, Conn.-based Priceline, which allows customers to name their own prices over the Internet for new cars, hotel rooms,
groceries and other products, expects 2000 revenues to exceed $1 billion, compared with $483 million last year, Walker said.

The company, which began selling airline tickets over the Internet in April 1998, expects to break even in the fourth quarter of this year
and post a profit early next year, he said.

The new, San Francisco-based Web service, Hotwire.com, expects to launch in the fall of this year, said Karl Peterson, Hotwire's chief executive.

Its $75 million in funding will be led by privately held Texas Pacific Group, Peterson told Reuters

JW - Thanks for the NOK TA. I sold my Jan 01 NOK calls this a.m.

I knew I should have done as RR says and 'executed' on Monday but decided to hang on. Got out today as I don't think NOK's going anywhere soon.

I want to keep my profits and not watch them go slip-sliding away. Trying to decide whether to buy more SEBL or RBAK calls with the cash.
