Sam, No profits (yet) but plenty of commercial products. Try a NiMH battery next time for your laptop or whatever -- they're better than Li-ion. They sell solar panels -- they're on Mir space station, for instance. Not too competitive so far here on earth, but that is changing as the new 25MW plant is being built. Have you ever bought a rewritable disk? Then you bought something with ECD inside. ECD and GE are building a new plant to produce DVD-RW's within a couple years. The production technology will have a serious edge over the competition. OUM is based on the same phase-change technology as RW disks. I think you way overestimate the amount of money that Stan has spent and some would argue that he has produced an incredible amount for the amount of money spent. Times change. Current JV's are with Texaco, Intel, GE, GM, Bekaert Steel, China Rare Earth, and others. wily
