I just read an interesting story in the New Yorker about a man (can't remember his name) who was influential in getting several New Hampshire Supreme Court judges thrown off the bench. Apparently you don't have to be licensed to practice law in New Hampshire???!!! He represented two women who went through messy divorces with Supreme Court judges, one of whom neglected to mention that he took a $50,000 loan from a lawyer who frequently practices before the court, another of whom tried to influence the selection of lower court judges to hear his appeal. The man himself has an extradition warrant outstanding in New York.
