Are you just acting stupid? I hope so. In case you really do not know what I meant I'll spell it out for you: What if the rape occurred in your back yard, at night? Your wife was screaming as your little girl was brutally savaged. The attacker was Asian, you saw that much. He was about 5 feet 9 inches tall. Slight build. Looked to be about 25 to 30 (but it was dark, and some Asians look much younger than they really are). Later, you go to a police line up. You've looked at mug shots. You are positive that one of the photos is of the guilty party. They bring you into a room to view a police line-up. There... second from the left... THAT'S HIM!!! Are you sure? Yes, dammit. You'll never forget his eyes. He had stared right at you for what seemed an eternity before tossing your little girl in the air. She landed on the ground with a thud. Most of her clothes were torn off. Her tiny, helpless throat was seared with a long ugly gash across the pale whiteness of her skin. So much blood... on her, on the manicured lawn, on your hands as you scooped her lifeless body up into your trembling arms. The dark figure of the rapist-murderer disappeared into the trees at the edge of your property and merged with the shadows. You looked down at the innocent, lifeless form of your daughter. You could barely see through the tears... And again, his eyes come back to haunt you. Yes. That's him. That's the scum, second from the left. Later, the detectives are sorry to tell you that he is not the one. He is a patrolman for their department. He was playing poker with some of the other off duty cops the night before last when the murder occured. He is also not Asian, but a Native American. Oh well, back to the drawing board...
