I tried to send a PM to you but apparently that isn't fixed yet. to the rest this is off topic...

>>What is telling you that you are runnung out of OS resources<<

I was unable to post on SI for the last couple days during all teh problems. I even lost all my bookmarks until a few minutes ago.

As far as my computer stuff, it is all irrelevant now. I just ordered a Abit Motherboard and a 750 Athalon as well as the Matrox dual head card you recomended and I won a bid at Ubid for a couple 20" Sony monitors. I should be in good shape soon as I pick a case and get some memory.

As far as telling when I was losing resources. I run into it frequently and always have when I run too many Java applications at once. I use the resource meter that is built in Win 98 now but I have used various other programs as well and they all read the same.

It is extremely easy to run out of resources if you are doing all the wrong things. <ggg> Try copying and pasting a lot of JPG or Gifs sometime or messing with MP3 files. Also when I used to do all my charting in Excel, I would often run into problems once I got over 50 charts in a workbook. That was the main reason I finally broke down and got MetaStock. I actually prefered doing my charts in Excel since I could hand groom the formulas and stuff better plus the extra work involved made it easy to commit a chart to memory so I wouldn't even have to look during the trading day. Now I fly thorugh them so fast, I can't remember what any given chart looks like without looking.

Anyway, thanks for the help. Once I get the other computer up and running, I shouldn't have any more problems... I hope. Still not sure if I will run Win 2K, wait for Millenium, or just load up Win 98 again. It may be easier to keep everything win 98 for my LAN and to keep file swapping easy since I will be backing up everything on both machines to guard against losing one.

Good Luck,

Lee
