LU outperformed NT in the stockmarket from its inception until the missed quarter. Since that drop, Lucent performed on a par with NT until the beginning of June. NT is a fine company and a good stock to own. However, the key reason that NT is doing better than Lucent now appears to be the fear that LU may miss again. If that doesn't happen, both stocks will do well. NT has guided growth expectations high. If they miss and are punished, many will write about how poorly it is managed. I expect both companies to be successful over the next period.

Remember, Lucent had more than 150% or Nortel revenues in the last reported quarter, a great quarter for NT and an acceptable one for LU.

tg, If LU is stagnating, how is it that even in after amissed quarter and a half, LU's non-enterprise growth of better than 29 billion is expected to grow by 23%, with higher estimates for next year?

Since NT's revenue is much smaller (LU is still 50% larger over all), it should be able to show a faster rate of growth. As Mr. Fun has indicated on numerous occasions, NT has an easy compare over last year since NT showed little growth in 1999 over 1998. So, take your rhetoric elsewhere since right now NT is trading at what, a PEG of 2.3 times next years estimates? watch out below in August and Septemeber. Meanwhile, LU should get a pop with the next 2 quarters of increased revenues and earnings as well as the spinoff (s).

Can you give us your detailed insight into what is going on internally at LU right now in regards to product shipments and deployment? since you project yourself as the expert on LU, that information must be at your fingertips. Please enlighten us.

btw, I am not wrong. Watch.

You don't know how much each division of Lucent has contributed to growth. I've never seen this information made public. This is just a bunch of frothing. Quiet down and behave yourself.
