He liked Santa Cruz. He was in their special language program and they tried very hard to get him to stay there. The place is beautiful. My drummer says Santa Cruz and Hawaii have great college life styles for people of his tastes. He studied a year at Northridge, which he liked very much also. My oldest son -- the climber mostly lived in or on on the ocean when he was a kid. He's done some rock climbing out here, but doesn't recommend it. The rock is too friable and unreliable. His favorite climb remains El Capitan (he's an experienced and expert long-wall climber) and San Francisco is the only city in which he will live.
If you don't like Ammo sleeping on the street then buy him a youth hostel card. But he sounds to me like he really ought to travel and explore to define his world.
