Korea, Indonesia sign agreement on cooperation in telecom sector

Information and Communication Vice-Minister Kim Dong-sun and Indonesia's Secretary-General of Communication Agum Gumelar Thursday signed an agreement on cooperation in the telecom sector.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the second as well as third-generation mobile telecom sector as well as working together for global roaming.

Korea and Indonesia had, in principle, agreed to cooperate closely in the telecom sector including the CDMA (code division multiple access) business, in the two summit talks held since the Wahid government was launched last October.

Kim is attending the Indonesian International Telecommunication, Media & Information Technology Conference and Exhibition 2000 in Jakarta being held through Saturday.

He is scheduled to address a seminar session on e-business and media this morning.
