The procedure you outline is exactly what I did to verify the leakage. How else do you suppose I was measuring it? Using a divining stick? Now there's an idea. Maybe I need an Exorcist to exorcise the memory leaks.

I always wondered why task manager didn't totalize the memory usage for you, now I suspect it's because that would make the leaky kernel much more obvious.

Windows NT and 2000 are implemented in C++. C++ is really good at creating systems which leak memory. Why are you finding it difficult to accept that NT has memory leaks?

I'll tell you what, for the next few days I'll take screenshot of my task manager at the start of a day (reeboot) and at the end of the day, or whenever I have to reboot it.
