Dough! Bullish for the dollar and bonds anyway:

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's lower house of parliament gave President
Vladimir Putin an all but unstoppable mandate Friday to assume sweeping
powers to sack elected officials, radically changing the way the country is
ruled.

Great observation!

They're selling NSM to buy 'em, I guess. Somebody's trying their damndest to keep NSM from closing down today -- it would be the seventh day without an up-close out of the past eight -- but it's becoming clear that they're not daring to try to scare any strong sellers.

Or maybe they're just trying to keep it above it 3/30/00 close of 57 15/16, so it doesn't show up as a negative sign on any of the end-of-quarter stock screeners that use the 30th of the month for every quarter.

(edit at 1:07 -- OOPS! HAHAHA! Two blocks of 150K+ at 56 3/4 after the close! Monday we MELT! -g-)
