Silicone status-

The details of the Dow Corning Corporation and the status
of any liabilities is fully covered in the most recent 10K.
Corning (GLW) is a 50% owner of Dow Corning; the other 50%
is owned by Dow Chemical, Dow Corning went Chapter 11 in
1995 and an order from the Bankrupcy court was issued in
November 1999. The current assets of Dow Corning meet the expected liabilities (see Corning-GLW Annual Report). GLW
"gave at the office" in 1995 and took a 395M$ after tax
charge, and forgave any earnings in 1995.

It looks like we are covered in GLW. Review the 10K and Annual Report. The Annual Report is friendlier.
