Trading pattern (con't) - this pattern of multiple trades by different brokers at the same price has occured nearly for the whole day - and must have taken a great deal of co-ordination - but it looks to me that someone has got to these institutions and got them to sell in rotation. On the buy side there is no symetry at all - earlier in the day perhaps - so if we are dealing with arbs they are scattered. And with volume of over 5 million shares (3 million more than the pp) we have to assume that Barrick got its ducks lined up in advance? If Barrick is buying it is doing so through several brokers. Now, I'm not clear if a purchaser has to stay out of the market during an offering - but the arbs would be in effect 'in loco Barrick' in the meantime?
