Not only is DoCoMo the largest market cap company in Japan, it is devoted to R&D, a tremendous combination, IMO. Of note to those who follow the standards wars, DoCoMo's interest in U.S. based Voicestream largely stems from the latter's use of the GSM standards, atypical of most U.S. wireless SPs.
