Just had a two hour sitdown with the management of AsiaOnLine (10% owned by Softbank Venture Partners out of USA). Good and enthusiastic team willing to learn as well as impart experiences, cash tank is brimming, acquisition objectives clear and implementation running smoothly. Strategy basically calls for being the one stop shop to i.com and e.net enable traditional small and medium Asian businesses and their global POPs. If implemented correctly, great window on future deal flow for Softbank, and good source of operating dividends, especially if the AsiaOnLine team/infrastructure becomes indispensible to their clients on repeat basis. No laundry machines here.
