Leigh, with the Internet you get eggrolls!

BEIJING (July 1, 2000 7:31 a.m. EDT nandotimes.com) - Internet use in China has risen by nearly half since the start of the year, according to
statistics published Saturday by state media.

Some 13 million Chinese had accessed the Internet by the end of June, said the China Daily, citing a report by the Beijing Mainland Information institute.

That represents a 46 percent rise from the 8.9 million Internet users reported at the end of last year by a government organization, the China Internet Network Information Center.

The number of users rose by four times last year.

According to new report, the number of Chinese Internet users is expected to hit 30 million by the end of 2002, as 21.3 percent of urban residents with telephone lines expect to go online "in the near future."

The study surveyed 8,000 people in 33 cities across the country.

Dellaction:
Here is Dell performance before and after the shareholders meetings:
July 1 to the meeting (about 17 days)
1997 +29%
1998 +25%
1999 +17%
From the meeting to about Sept 1
1997 +11% (split on 7-28)
1998 +6%
1999 +14%
Overall in 2 months(7-1 to 9-1)
1997 +44%
1998 +35%
1999 +37%
Conclusions:
Summer is a good time of year for Dell, much of the run-up occurs before the meeting. Management lays out accomplishments, facts, and plans at the meeting, which
lacks the big kick mo-mo players look for so the stock may back down a bit just after the meeting.
Some analysts now have 70 or $80 target on Dell. Thats
exciting but IMO July is too soon- would create volatiliy for several months till Dell grows into it. Aug or Sept is better(G)
