JC - well, getting enough information to develop and manage systems reliably is certainbly a hot topic. I have attended those sessions for about 8 years, and the discission is always lively, sometimes confrontational, but these MS speakers are engineers and don't stick to the party line - they usually know a lot more about the problems than their questioners, and are pretty frank, and not at all afraid to address the limitations of MSFT products. There was a lot more MS bashing in the earlier years than in recent sessions, and the MS people were easier targets. The level of discussion has moved up steadily over the years.
