Actually imo one of the worst things new SI mgmt does is these damned junk spam mass PMs. It should not be too hard for them to send them from a special open thread and have the msg land in our public Inboxes.
In any case the content of the PM spams has been so spongy and worthless that I dread finding one cluttering my Inbox.

One of the wonderful things about SI is the likelihood of getting up and finding a message or five from online friends in my Inbox. Over the last few weeks, this has slowed to almost nothing. Sure, I'm annoyed/furious at SI mgmt for being so callous in dismantling what SI should be All About. But the real fear I have is that my online friendships - which are very real to me - might fade into background by simple attrition. Can we hold the line against this, or is it inevitable, like death, taxes and entropy?
