There is nothing to be gained by emphaisizing how far behind the company is. Yes I don't see the benifit to Intel to hold a press conference and say "hey everyone AMD is only out produceing us 4 to 1 on 1ghz chips", or even 2 to one. If AMD is produceing more 1ghz chips then Intel (and it seems like they probably are), I don't think Intel would care to address the issue no matter how small the difference.
