I understand StressGen put in a request to present after the deadline for such requests, but they were granted permission anyway. Here is the text of a post about this on stockhouse.ca bullboards:stockhouse.ca EVENT: Stressgen will present some data from the interim analysis of the Phase II HspE7 anal dysplasia (AIN) trial at the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) conference in Barcelona on July 26. DETAILS: The Phase II trial is a randomized double blind trial looking at the effectiveness of HspE7 vs. placebo in patients with anal dysplasia (AIN), which is caused by HPV. The interim analysis of the trial, scheduled to occur after the first 44 patients were followed up for six months, was done the week of the June 23. Enrollment in the Phase II trial was suspended, as the company and its advisory board felt the data was sufficiently positive to proceed directly to a Phase III trial. Patients enrolled to date (85 patients) will be followed in a blinded fashion until their six months are complete. Patients in the trial were receiving a dose of 100 ug. At the completion of the six-month follow-up, patients could be enrolled in a companion trial at an increased dosage of 500 ug. Since these patients are not being treated in a blinded fashion, this data can be presented before the trial is complete and will be presented at the HPV conference on Wednesday. ASSESSMENT: Based on the management decision to proceed to a Phase III trial, it appears that HspE7 shows effectiveness. Although the data to be presented is only on a handful of patients, the results will give us an idea of the degree of effectiveness shown. This will be the indication that HspE7 has met its’ “proof of concept” and has a good chance of becoming a drug. We also expect the company to present data on genital warts, since many of the patients with dysplasia also have these. Heat.
