Ok, I can handle this thinly-veiled insult...stiff upper lip and all that. Thursday I said to Suzy..."Say, you wanna come up and see what it is I do every day?" "Sure" she said. So there we were...me, Suzy, Dortmunder, Delbert-the-Parrot perched on Dort'ys right shoulder and soon Capt. Tomato and Lettuce who sensed that something unusual was up and plopped down in front of us watching. I showed Suzy my positions, told her my intended strategy for the day. "I've got 4 points on my ADRX trade" I said. "Take it, take it off the table, then you can knock off for the rest of the day" she said. "Take it off the table, take it off the table" said Delbert-the-Parrot in perfect impersonation of Suzy. "Nope" I said, "it looks higher to me." "But haven't you always told me that when you've got your trade you always take it?" Suzy asked. "Well yes" I said..."but this is a very powerful stock, backed by strong fundamentals." ADRX opened firm and I said "See?" Suzy said nothing. Thirty minutes later the stock was down two points." "I guess you missed your trade" Suzy said. "Missed your trade, missed your trade...AWK AWK!" screeched Delbert-the-Parrot." Dortmunder gave me a look. Capt. Tomato and Lettuce moved to a far corner. This was not going well. "I missed nothing" I snapped. "In fact I'm thinking of buying some more ADRX down here." Suzy shook her head sadly, said "You're trading like an amateur, I thought you were a pro." I ignored this and kicked out some SSTI for two points." Looking at the chart Suzy said "Now that one you should have kept." "Should have kept, should have kept" screamed Delbert-the-Parrot. Dortmunder slammed the lid down on his laptop, stalked out. Capt. Tomato & Lettuce quickly followed. I remained undaunted. Hey, I'd been trading for 35 years, Suzy had been up here for less than an hour. I knew best. But it got worse. It was a long, losing day. "Let's do this again tomorrow" Suzy said, "It was fun and I think I can help you." I could hardly wait. (Lee)
