To: el paradisio who wrote (6974) From: JDN Sunday, Jul 2, 2000 5:43 AM ET Reply # of 6977 Dear El: First off, "it aint over till the fat lady sings" I suspect this MIGHT put more pressure on the US regulators to reconsider a reworked WCOM/FON merger, if they FORCE Sprint to be sold to foreign interests (especially one substantially owned by a foreign government) you can bet your britches this will be an ELECTION ISSUE. Secondly, I have followed DT ever since it became quasipublic and I seriously doubt their offer would exceed the failed WCOM bid (those people are cheap) so IMHO $76 TOPS, Thirdly FON obviously does NOT WISH to be acquired by DT so they will do everything in their power to save the WCOM deal and Finally, if all else fails WCOM is still a wonderful company currently at an attractive price. Good potential here to move up based upon WCOM's next move. JDN
