Dan,

Yep, a broad variety of RDRAM systems have been for sale for a half a year now. And not just from IBM, but from Dell, Compaq, and others. There haven't been any issues of availability of Rambus based systems for many months now.

So why hasn't anyone been buying them?

LOL! Thanks for pointing out that, in fact, people are buying RDRAM-based systems. One thing I can say with complete and total confidence is that if these companies weren't selling these sytems they wouldn't be on their price list 6 months later!. Do you really think they sit around and say "hey, those RDRAM systems aren't selling very well so let's make 80% of the configurations we offer RDRAM-based"? Do you really, really believe that? If they weren't selling, then they'd find a different way to configure them so that they did. They'd make 80% of the configurations SDRAM systems. Maybe even try Athlon processors. But they'd do something. These guys wouldn't just sit around with their thumbs up their behinds wondering what to do next.

Excellent point and thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Dave
