While we may agree, to a degree, on self representation, my post meant to convey dislike of terms like "pro se". I believe all the laws, all the procedures, etc. in the legal system should be written in plain ENGLISH!

I can't argue about "unequal treatment" as I am unaware of such. In my experience, if I so much as asked a question about an administrative procedure, such as the meaning of an item on a form, the answer has routinely been, "We are not allowed to give legal advice."

The only other people I know who don't want the unwashed to know how to help themselves are Realtors.

I personally believe the courts should make an effort to be user friendly and useful to the average guy. There is no reason in the world why the self-represented should be prone to crash and burn due to unfamiliarity with "manners or the court."

I have no problem with winners winning and losers losing, regardless of who handles the case.
